In the summer of 1987, thousands flocked to Fremantle, WA, to watch Kookaburra 111 take on Stars & Stripes in the 27th America's Cup regatta. But the yachts were not the only ones making waves in 'Freo' that February - there was also 'spaghetti ice-cream'. Even today, more than 25 years later, that pasta-shaped gelato doused with 'tomato sauce' made from berry coulis is still mentioned in the same breath as the Cup by many locals.
