摘要

This research paper considers reforms in Japan's higher education system and the need for a global skills development curriculum suited to leveraging the future academic and mobility needs of students'. This initiative connects Tokyo Tech's internationalization policy to developing a core educational engineering curriculum. This meets an emerging global skills requirement for integrating learning and knowledge technologies including electronic reflective learning portfolios. The aim is to prepare engineering students for seamless transition into a newly reformed curriculum structure from April 2016. The authors' overview innovative course design approaches including active, self-organised and lifelong learning and the role of educational technology.
