Xstrata may develop fourth Queensland coal terminal

Xstrata is considering participating in the construction of a new Queensland coal terminal which could service its Wandoan steam coal mine being constructed in the Surat basin. Port Alma, currently a non-coal facility located near Rockhampton, north of Gladstone, would become Queensland's fourth major coal terminal after an extensive upgrade costing around 1 billion Australia dollars (950 million dollars).
