The evolution of the music-emotion relation

Juslin’s [1] unified theory of musical emotions is so complex and comprehensive that it would seem to leave little room for additional conceptual development. Yet I would argue the contrary: A complete account of this fascinating phenomenon must deal with several core questions that place the music–emotion connection in a larger explanatory context. I just wish to focus on one particular question: What is the evolutionary basis for the music–emotion relation?
