Resource kit for computer science students

Burks (the Brighton University Resource Kit for Students) is a CD-ROM containing a collection of useful resources from the Internet, which is being distributed on a non-profit basis to make as much information as possible easily available for use by students of computer science at a price they can afford. It has also proved to be attractive to industry, where Internet access is often more restricted than it is in academia and few have the luxury of being able to spend hours scouring the net for potentially useful material. Based on a small initial print run, the CD is currently priced at £7, including a small allowance to cover postage or a distributor's handling charges; it is hoped that this price can be reduced substantially in future versions.
