Where to locate a call center successfully — and how to ensure proper security for the facility — requires thorough research and expertise. Ten or fifteen years ago, the limited availability of sites with reliable utility and communications infrastructures reduced site choices to those located in areas where government installations, airports and hospitals had already mandated a high reliability infrastructure. Technological advances since then have enabled call centers to be located virtually anywhere, allowing site selection to focus on other aspects, including: labor availability, economic and political environment, incentives to locate, and the cost of doing business, including workers' compensation.
