摘要

The research and development of hybrid structures have yielded few concrete results. In this report a dual-layered HP (hyperbolic paraboloidal) shell made of wooden boards is suggested. The layers are crossed relative to each other and are connected with lag screw bolts. An aramid fiber sheet is introduced into four wooden HP shells so the strength and rigidity of the shells are improved. This hybrid structure further combined with a steel beam string structure is applied to Yamadera Post Office in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.
