EDA study looks to define future MCM capabilities

The European Defence Agency (EDA) has launched a multinational initiative to examine the future Maritime Mine Countermeasures (MMCM) capabilities required by 11 European navies, writes Richard Scott.rnSet against the requirements of a Common Staff Target agreed by the member nations last year, the MMCM initiative was launched as a Category B project by the EDA Steering Board in November 2008. The initial aim of the initiative is to produce a Common Staff Requirement and propose an initial set of candidate system/technical solutions by the end of next year.
