摘要

The primary goals of expatriate compensation programs are to encourage qualified employees to accept foreign assignments and to remove financial obstacles that hinder the employee's ability or willingness to relocate to a foreign post. Other goals employers pursue with their expatriate compensation programs include: promoting equity among expatriates assigned to different countries; maintaining equity between expatriates and home-country staff; and staying in full compliance with the tax, labor, and employment laws in both the United States and the foreign country to which the expatriate is assigned.
