Simplification of Compiler Design Course Teaching Using Concept Maps

摘要

The students of undergraduate expect simple, interactive and understandable method ofteaching. But, in many universities, instructors simply follow text books and solve the examplesgiven in it. In such case, students cannot learn anything other than the text book contentsdefined in the syllabus. This method of teaching will not motivate students to understand thesubject in depth unless the industrial and practical applications of the subject explained. Oncestudents do not show interest, instructor also loses the interest which leads to poor performanceof students. Hence, it is mandatory to re-design the teaching method especially for theundergraduate students. This paper use concept maps to simplify teaching and learning of acompiler design subject with assignments and problems related to research and industry.
