2006 Global pcb production exceeded USD 48 billion (Chart 1), up 13 percent from 2005. While most of this growth was in Southeast Asia, North American PCB shipments were up 8.8 percent. Both increased unit demand and spotty price increases (to offset much higher metal, laminate, and energy costs) drove the expansion.rnThe EMS and ODM industries also enjoyed a good year. A composite of 11 large EMS providers (Chart 2) saw sales grow 17 percent in 4Q FY06 versus 4Q FY05 and 15 percent for all of 2006. The seven largest Taiwan-listed ODMs (Chart 3) reported a 21 percent revenue increase in 2006.
