Withe the development of education, the cultivation of communicative competence has been attached to more and more importance in English learning, and has become the primary tar-get of English teaching in the 21st century. The rise of sociolin-guistics has exerted a great influence on English teaching. This paper first briefly analyzes the development process and results of sociolinguistics and the problems existing in the cultivation of domestic students' English communicative competence, then ex-plores the sociolinguistic factors affecting the cultivation of stu-dents' English communicative competence, and finally specifies the strategies to enhance the cultivation of students' English communicative competence with the results of sociolinguistics. The writer hopes to provide some help for English education in colleges and universities of our country.%随着教育行业的发展,英语学习中对于交际能力的培养越来越受到重视,成为21世纪英语教学中的主要目标.而社会语言学的兴起,对英语的教学产生了较大的影响.本文首先对社会语言学发展历程与成果进行简单分析,然后对国内学生英语交际能力培养中存在的问题,进而探讨影响学生英语交际能力培养的社会语言学因素,最后具体解读运用社会语言学成果来加强学生英语交际能力培养的策略,希望对我国各院校英语教育提供一定的帮助.
