从等效角度看《红楼梦》中习语的翻译——杨译版、霍译版《红楼梦》习语翻译之比较

《红楼梦》包含大量的习语,习语承载着一门语言独有的文化信息,所以这些习语为原著增色不少。文章通过对霍译版《红楼梦》与杨译版《红楼梦》中习语的英译进行比较,探讨习语的翻译要点;进而指出,译者只要达到等效翻译的效果,不管采取何种翻译方法都是可以的。%As one of the Four Classics in China, A Dream of Red Mansion contains a lot of idioms. Idioms contain unique cultural element of one language, thus to make the original works more successful. This thesis talks about the key points of the idiom - translation through the comparison between the two editions of translation of A Dream of Red Mansion, one by David Hawkers and John Minford, the other by Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang; and further points out that the translator can take any translation approach as long as he or she can get an equivalent translation.
