从训诂、义理两方面探求“道德”概念之本义，“道”即天道，“德”即天德。“道”“德”二字同源，创生于一时，与上古天官之学、世畴制度相关。“文明”观念由此而出，“人文”观念亦由此而出。如果割裂天道，偏指人事，则不免流为以人治人之弊。后世种种引申泛论，率多违误。%This article explores the conceptual meaning of“Tao and De”(Morality).“Tao”is the way of heaven, and“De”is the virtue of heaven.“Tao”and“De”are in the same origin and were created in the same time. They are in relation to the study of the emperor and the regulation of pedigree in ancient times. The concepts of civilization and culture are all from them. If we divorce“Tao and De”(Morality) from way of heaven, the malpractice of human govern-ing human will arise. Most of the explanations of“Tao and De”(Morality) are wrong.
