大学精神是大学在长期的发展积淀中逐渐形成的符合其内在逻辑和规律的相对稳定的一种价值观念、心理状态和整体风貌。大学精神包括大学的共性精神和个性精神。共性的大学精神是自由精神、博雅精神和创新精神的集成。大学责任是大学有用性的表现，包括教育和学术的核心责任、无限服务的拓展责任和不可推卸的文化责任。由于中国大学是非主体性的，移植过程中没有遵循大学的共性精神，没接地气和实现本土化生长，从而没有真正形成具有中国特色的大学精神。培育中国大学精神，履行好大学责任，需要解好“李约瑟难题”、“钱学森之问”、“黄炎培历史周期律”三个问题，增强中国特色大学发展自信。%University spirit includes values, psychology and collective style that are constant and have been formed in the long development of a university, including spirits common to all universities and spirits that unique about one university. The common spirits comprise the spirits of freedom, knowledge, and creativity. University responsibility is the demonstration of its usefulness, consisting education and academic research in the first place, service to the society and cultural responsibility that are mustn't be shirked. University Responsibility manifests in its role to lead, to transcend, and to adapt. Due to the fact the university was not born in China but was imported from the west, the common spirits were not well preserved in the process, and meanwhile, it was not fully adjusted to the Chinese situation, therefore failing to produce mature university spirits of China, and to fulfill the responsibilities. It is urgent that we give answers to the“Needham Question”, “Qian Xuesen's question” and “Huang Yanpei's historic cycle law”.
