基于 COCA语料库的英语文化特色词的翻译

摘要

从英语文化特色词与英语文化之间的关系入手，探讨了英语文化特色词的五种翻译方法，然后通过检索16个英语文化特色词在COCA语料库中的使用频率，得出不同使用频率的文化特色词应该使用不同的翻译方法的规律，即高频使用的文化特色词的隐喻程度高，所以在翻译的时候应该采用意译法，或者直译加解释翻译法；而低频使用的文化特色词的隐喻程度低，应多采用直译法或者文化替代翻译法。%Starting from the relationship between English Culture-specific words and English culture , the paper has discussed 5 translating methods of English culture-specific words .Then through retrieving 16 culture-specific words in COCA , the paper has arrived at the conclusion for translating culture-specific words:using free translating methods for those high-frequency words with metaphor;while using literal translating method or cultural substitution for those low-frequency words .
