从关联理论析《道德经》的翻译

摘要

Relevance theory assumes the process of language communication is the process to achieve optimal relevance, that is, the listener will not have to spend unnecessary effort to get adequate contextual effects. The translation is also to pursuit optimal relevance. Tao Te Ching plays an important role in the cultural exchange. In the light of relevance theory, this article sets Chapter VIII of Tao Te Ching, as example to analyzes how to achieve optimal relevance in English translation process.%关联理论认为语言的交际过程是最佳关联实现的过程，即听者不用花费不必要的努力便可以得到足够的语境效果。关联理论下的翻译，同样追求最佳关联。《道德经》在中国优秀传统文化的交流与传播中扮演着重要的角色。本文从关联理论出发，以《道德经》的第九章为例，分析如何更好的翻译过程中实现最佳关联。
