奈达翻译理论：“老调新弹”——奈达翻译定义新解

摘要

中国所有翻译教科书中的必不可少的奈达翻译定义被视为翻译理论的金科玉律。研究发现中国翻译教材中的奈达翻译定义是被中国一些翻译理论家误读和误译了的假奈达翻译定义,不是理论经典,不是翻译理论的金科玉律,而是翻译教材中的瑕疵,是白圭之玷。笔者的译文是＂翻译是用最相当的自然流畅的接收语再现原语信息,首先再现信息的意义,其次再现信息的风格。＂尹富林等合编的教材第一章第三页绪论中论述翻译的性质和翻译定义时说：美国翻译理论家E.A.奈达（1969）则认为＂翻译是在接受语中寻找和原语信息尽可能贴近、自然的对等话语,首先是意义上的对等,其次是风格上的对等。翻译教材中奈达翻译定义的译文错误百出,矛盾百出。%There exist two Nida＇s translation definitions：Nida＇s true translation definition that is popular in the other parts of the world and Nida＇s distorted translation definition that is seriously misread and misunderstood in China.In this paper,the true translation definition of Nida and the distorted translation definition of Nida are differentiated,analyzed and compared.
