查尔斯·赖特因偶然结缘中国诗歌而开启自己的诗歌生涯,从中国古典诗歌与文化典籍中吸取自己所要表达诗歌的方式与内容."中国迹象"是赖特诗歌留给我们的文化印记,他长达半个多世纪的创作坚持着中国文化的艺术风格和文化精神.他将中国传统诗歌中所捕捉到的"借景赋情"、"景物自现"、"以物格物"等艺术手段加以吸纳并结合道家、佛教思想中的"空"、"无"生命观进而形成自己富有整体性的诗学思想.%Charles Wright started his poetic career for the sake of his early occasional contact with Chinese ancient poetry, from which he has absorbed the ways and contents of writing poetry."China Trace" is a cultural mark of his personal poetry.He has persisted in employing China`s artistic styles and cultural qualities for as long as a half century.Wright has adopted the Chinese poetic techniques-"expressing emotions through landscape", "landscape expressing itself", and "landscape expressing landscape"-in the absorption of Taoist life philosophy of "nothingness" and Buddhist "emptiness" so as to have set up his personal poetics.
