The broad purpose of this study is to investigate the use of strong artificial intelligence in support of behavioral control for patients in rehabilitation programs due to addictions or other mental disorders, and the ethical concerns related to technology applications employed in behavioral control to prevent immoral acts. The study focuses on 1) identifying high-performance models using social robots, nanorobots, and other applications such as brain computer interfaces in support of social services for patients in recovery, and 2) neuroscience discoveries related to technology employed in supporting human behavior along with ethical concerns related to micro devices employed in treatment or preventing immoral and irrational acts. According to Robertson (2014), Japan is the forerunner of communication between humans and robots in support of the elderly who respond better to robots than to human assistants. Based on technology predictions (Kurzweil, 2009), by the year 2030, nonorobots will travel to the brain through capillaries to connect the human neocortex to the cloud. By 2020, robots will equal human brain functions and will be 1,000 more powerful by 2029. Robots capable of supporting behavioral change in humans intend to merge humans and machines to singularity, a matter, which raises ethical concerns and seems unattainable to some scientists. The use of artificial intelligence could augment personnel engaged in rehabilitation and correction services saving expenditures for the benefit of patients, insurance industry, and healthcare agencies. The most relevant findings in this study are an inexpensive robot (ANNIE) providing physical and mental support (Frenger, 2015) with strong characteristics that meet expectations in supporting patients in rehabilitation programs. One of the most frequent topics in research using robots for influencing behavior is the interaction between humans and robots along with machine learning techniques. Emotional development in robots is one of the most important topics in robotics as robots could copy humans' strategies efficiently and could produce more predictable behavior than humans can do when challenged. The use of devices creates a closer interaction between humans and robots allowing robots to influence human behavior. From a technological point of view, robot movement is one of the most important topics handled with mental rotation and space cognition to avoid obstacles. Robotic mental models support robot behavior, evaluation of the biological and artificial mechanism of mental disorders to provide a mechanism that manages human behavior.
