摘要

本研究旨在通过实验设计以及比较和描述的方法,考察不同英语水平二语学习者双语心理词汇表征类型对词语翻译转换的影响,是一项将翻译研究与双语词汇表征研究联系起来的一次跨学科尝试。
   本研究探讨的主要问题是:
   (1)不同水平二语学习者双语心理词汇表征类型是否相同,如不同,分别是如何表征的?(2)二语学习者的不同双语心理词汇表征类型对不同翻译方向上的词汇翻译转换提取是否产生影响?即在不同翻译方向上词汇提取速度和错误率上表现出何种特征?随机抽取扬州大学30名大一非英语专业和30名三年级英语专业研究生参加测试,他们分别被视为我们实验中高、低两个不同水平层次参加测试。本研究调查工具为用英语命名图片和词汇翻译实验。
   实验结果表明:(1)不同英语水平学习者表现出不同的心理词汇表征类型:低水平学习者表现出词汇联结表征类型,高水平学习者表现出概念调节的表征类型。(2)二语学习者的不同表征类型在不同翻译方向上词汇翻译转换提取表现出相同的特征。(3)翻译过程存在非对称性:不同表征类型的二语学习者在翻译过程中,从二语(L2)翻译到一语(L1)的速度总是快于从一语(L1)翻译到二语(L2)的速度,并且从L2翻译到L1的错误率明显低于从L1翻译到L2。
   最后作者从学习者的二语熟悉程度,双语心理词汇表征等方面对调查的结果的可能的原因进行了探讨,并指出本研究对外语教学以及今后的双语心理词汇研究的启示作用。
