摘要

风格再现是文学翻译中最敏感最复杂的问题之一,翻译中再现原文风格是译者的重要任务。达到风格等值才能真正忠实传达原文的意思,做出理想的翻译。如何再现原作风格以达到风格等值是国内外翻译界历来长期争论的问题。一种观点认为,风格是可译的,可以用适合于原作风格的文学语言传达原作的内容与形式;也有许多学者认为风格是不可译的。由于全世界不同民族的语言不同、生活背景和文化等差别,风格翻译有着不完全可译或完全不可译等困难。 当代美国著名的翻译家Nida的功能对等理论认为,翻译就是在接受语中寻找与源语信息最接近的、自然的等值语言。首先是意义上的等值,其次是风格上的等值。他认为,翻译的质量标准之一是要传达原作的精神和风格。刘重德的翻译新三字原则“信、达、切”针对翻译风格的传达提出了“切”字。他认为风格不仅是可译的,而且在一定程度上可以实现等值。理论必须和实践相结合,在功能对等理论和刘重德关于风格再现的理论指导下,本文结合刘重德的《爱玛》中译本系统分析、探讨风格等值问题。刘重德的翻译理论是和他的翻译实践紧密联系的,通过对他的译著《爱玛》的风格传达分析同时结合国内外关于风格再现的研究成果,本文对风格等值得出肯定的答案。 风格等值在一定程度上是可以实现的,但实现百分之百的等值又是不太可能的,翻译时重要的是如何尽量缩短译文风格和原作风格的距离,提高可译度,尽力找出最大限度地传达原语言风格的方法。在各种翻译理论和翻译标准争鸣的今天,进一步研究和完善风格等值理论有着重要的理论和实践指导意义。
