从接受美学角度看双关语的翻译——以《爱丽丝梦游仙境》中译本为例

摘要

双关，作为一种常见的修辞手法，被广泛地运用在文学作品中。它的使用使语言生动幽默，妙趣横生，使读者产生丰富的联想。因此，翻译好文学作品中的双关语显得特别重要。
　　《爱丽丝梦游仙境》是英国作家刘易斯·卡罗尔(LewisCarroll)的作品，小说故事新颖独特，荒诞幽默，自1865年问世以来，已被译为80多种语言文字，受到世界各国读者的好评。书中大量双关语的运用使其曾一度被认为是“妙不可译”的奇书。
　　20世纪60年代，接受美学（又称接受理论），开始运用到文学作品研究中。这标志着文学批评理论的焦点从作品、作者转向了文本—读者的关系上。接受美学理论的两位主要代表人物汉斯·罗伯特·姚斯(HansRobertJauss)和沃尔夫冈·伊瑟尔(WolfgangIser)认为读者在文本接受过程中发挥着积极主动的作用，读者反应应成当为文本优劣的评价标准。在创作或翻译的过程中，作者或译者必须考虑到读者的“期待视野”，以便文学作品被读者接受，实现其审美价值。
　　本文将从接受美学的理论视角，主要以2002年赵元任的《爱丽丝梦游仙境》为研究案例，结合2010年冷杉译本中的典型例子，总结出双关语的翻译策略。本文认为，接受美学对《爱丽丝梦游仙境》这类文学作品中双关语的翻译具有切实可行的指导意义。一方面，译者应该牢记读者的“期待视野”，适当填补文学作品中双关语的“意义未定点”，帮助目标读者准确理解和欣赏文学作品;另一方面，译者也应在迎合目标读者阅读需求的情况下，适当保留文学作品中双关语的“意义未定点”。只有这样，读者才能充分发挥其想象力去挖掘文本中的隐含意义，以在阅读过程之中，顺利实现其“主体地位”。
