摘要

电影作为一种基于某种文化产生的艺术形式,能很好地反映该文化的文化价值取向和世界观。是一种重要的文化输出和交流的形式。来自各层次教育背景的受众感受到电影中所体现的源语言国的文化,生活方式以及思维模式。而电影片名展现了一部电影的灵魂,一个恰当的电影片名会带给该电影更大的声望,一个恰当的电影片名翻译对于针对非母语受众的喜好起着至关重要的作用。尽管已有许多系统化的理论应用于电影片名翻译,但各有其不足及局限性。
   本文尝试通过从奈达的动态等效理论,韦努蒂的异化理论,德国功能派翻译理论等多角度对英文电影片名翻译进行进一步的研究。提出这些理论中的一些优点和不足。
   通过对大量电影片名翻译实例的定量分析及定性分析,得出以下结论。即对电影片名翻译的研讨亦不能单纯的局限于本文中分析的某个翻译理论,正如德国功能学派的“目的论”是对前人归化翻译理论和异化翻译理论的结合和折中,笔者更倾向于译者应掌握更多的翻译理论,具体问题具体分析,采取从多个翻译理论中遴选出适合的某个角度或结合某几个角度去翻译电影片名。以达到帮助电影实现其市场化和商业价值的最终目的。
