目的论指导下《国学的天空》中四字格英译实践报告

摘要

汉语四字格是由四个字或四个音节组成的格式，具有言简意赅、短小精炼、形式工整的特点。四字格在《国学的天空》中使用数量多，形式各样，因此四字格的英译效果势必会对整部合集翻译的流畅性有重要影响。对译者而言，翻译时既要保留四字格的形式特征，又要传达原文内涵，并非易事。
　　笔者采用定性分析的方法，根据四字格不同的语意结构，将其划分为六种类型。针对不同类型的四字格，本文分析了其前后结构和逻辑关系，使用增补、省略、替代和转译等不同的翻译策略，力求翻译得精准地道，使四字格词语能在译文中展现原文效果。整个翻译过程是在目的论指导下完成的，目的论强调翻译目的决定翻译过程。笔者秉持目的论中的目的原则、连贯性原则和忠实性原则，针对不同类型的四字格体现出的特点和翻译过程中遇到的实际问题进行案例分析，将目的论三原则运用到翻译文本当中，以达到文本的交际需求和读者对译文的期待。
　　本文是基于《国学的天空》第二章内容的翻译报告，着重分析了四字格的翻译技巧和策略，期望为全书的翻译提供参考。
