基于网络的文本与语音实时交流对学生口语表现影响的比较研究

摘要

英语作为世界性语言在当今国际交流中扮演着重要的角色。传统大学英语口语教学面临的种种困境引起了越来越多的学者与研究者的重视。网络信息时代的到来为改善英语口语教学提供了新的生机,如何有效利用互联网促进大学英语口语教学是一个值得深究的问题。本文通过实验,对比研究网络文本实时交流与网络语音实时交流对非英语专业学生口语表现的影响或差异,以期探索出更合适、更有效的提高英语口语表现的途径。本研究首先从理论上探讨网络实时交流对语言能力发展的作用。在互动理论视角下,网络实时交流的外语教学活动涉及语言输入、输出和互动协商,输入可以来自同伴的语言输出或教师提供的语言材料,进而促进语言习得。因此,作为一项介于说和写之间的新型的认知活动,网络实时交流能够促进语言能力发展。本研究采用定性和定量相结合的研究方法,对基于微信文本实时交流与网络语音实时交流两种网络辅助教学模式提出了三个研究问题:基于微信的网络文本实时交流与网络语音实时交流对大学英语学生口语影响有所不同么?两种交流模式对大学英语学生口语表现方面影响是否存在显著性差异?学生对这两种辅助教学模式看法如何?实验对象来自重庆某高校国际商学院48名非英语专业一年级学生。作者把他们分为网络文本实时交流组和网络语音实时交流组,实验时间持续了四个教学周。通过口语测试、口语输出表现、问卷调查、访谈的数据分析统计之后,研究表明:基于微信的网络文本实时交流与网络语音实时交流均有助于提高大学英语学生口语表现;在对学生英语口语水平的影响上,网络文本实时交流产生了更为有效的影响,在对口语发音,表达流利度方面,网络语音实时交流则产生更为有效的影响,尤其在连读方面,语音组有明显提高,但在停顿上,文本组显得更为接受,在其他方面则没有明显差异。
