MULTI-CULTURAL EDUCATIONAL GROUP WORK IN 3D COLLABORATIVE VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENTS: IDENTIFYING CHALLENGES

The project described in this paper focuses on the use ofrn3D Collaborative Virtual Environments (3D CVEs) in anrneducational multi-cultural context. It revolves around thernconstruction of a virtual Tower of Babel, involvingrnstudents across cooperating institutions from Finland andrnTaiwan, on two different continents in different timernzones. This project addresses the increasing need forrnlearners to work in diverse cultural environments.rnTherefore, this paper discusses the challenges associatedrnwith supporting group work in 3D CVEs in anrneducational cross-cultural context.
