The disclosure herein on relates to computer implemented frameworks and methodologies configured to enable the generation, processing and management of 3d body scan data, including shared data access protocols and collaborative data utilisation, and identify verification for 3d environments. Some embodiments have been developed to provide technology that enables a hybrid between automated and expert human analysis of body scan data. Some embodiments have been developed for verifying an online user's identity before allowing them access to online services where verification of a user's identity is important such as on-line dating or virtual business meetings and/or allowing them access to digital data including data representative of a virtual 3D representation of the user. Further embodiments have been developed to provide technology that enables collaborative sharing of body scan data, for example in the context of clothing tailoring.
