In this paper we will be discussing the effect that deregulation has on billing. In a regulated market the billing is centered on the billing cycles, whereas in a competitive market billing becomes part of the customer management strategy. Self billing is an innovative customer management offering. We will be discussing case studies of retailers who are using self billing to improve customer management and ensure that new business can be won. We will be highlighting the most efficient and effective way to self bill when self billing makes good business sense.
