Proving table as a systematic analysis tool for teaching and learning in mathematical proving

Mathematical proving is used to demonstrate the truth of mathematical statements such as theorems, scientific ideas or algorithms. Unfortunately, students often find doing mathematical proving extremely challenging. Indeed, some students resort to memorizing the entire proof without comprehension as a shortcut to reproducing mathematical proofs. Therefore, a guided mathematical proving table called Tiga Lajur (3L) is proposed as a tool in learning and teaching sessions. The 3L table introduced in this study seeks to serve as a draft in the writing of effective and structured proof. The usage of the 3L table depends on the utilization of mathematical logic as well as the chosen method of proving (direct, contrapositive or contradiction). By using this 3L table, teachers can detect the errors and assess students' understanding of mathematical proofs. Each of the argument provided by students using the 3L table depicts their understanding of the mathematical proving process.
