Renal impairment and the early occurrence of heart failure in ST segment elevation acute myocardial infarction

By studying the correlation between renal impairment (creatinine clearance), occurrence of heart failure (admission Killip class and 14 days occurence of heart failure (HF)), cardiac history and CRP level in 107 patients (pts) with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), we shown that NYHA class was correlated with renal impairment and high CRP level, while Killip class was correlated with the size and localization of STEMI.
