An overview of research on suppression of fungal growth and aflatoxin production in groundnut

Moldiness of groundnut kernels during storage is a production constraint in Ghana but the range of fungi responsible for and the extent of the problem are not well known. Contamination of groundnut kernels by fungi, especially Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus is undesirable because these fungi produce aflatoxins, which are potential carcinogens.
