In this article we present an experience of aplication of a serious game as a simulation tool for a subject of computer networks. Like games, learning is an interactive process, challenging students and having more or less explicit rules about how to acquire new knowledge or skills. The simulators are valuable didactic resources since they allow the students to face real situations in a safe context and are guided by the teachers. For this investigation, simulations of real situations of network topologies with typical business problems were carried out. Promising results were observed regarding the motivation generated by the selected tool and the relationship with the optimal experience. Through the creation of a rubric, the acquired achievements were analyzed finding advances in the learning mediated by the game.
