Heterogeneised Rh complexes have been prepared by covalent anchorage on grafted activated carbons. Thernsupport was functionalised by oxidation with HNO_3 acid and chlorination with sulfuril chloride. The Rh complex wasrnheterogeneised in two different ways. Addition of [Rh(C_sH_(14))Cl]_2 to a previously ligand (HO(CH_2)_3N(CH_2PPh_2)_2)rngrafted activated carbon or addition of [Rh(C_sH_(14))(HO(CH_2)_3N(CH_2PPh_2)_2)]Cl to the chlorinated activated carbon.rnXPS and ~(31)P NMR have been used to characterize the supports and catalysts. The hydroformylation of 1-octene wasrnused as catalytic test. Excellent results were found with the complex bonded to the chlorinated activated carbon,rncatalyst Rh(ONP)/GF-OCl, the activity and selectivity of the heterogeneised complex was constant in fourrnconsecutive runs and similar to the homogeneous catalyst.
