Many studies related to transactive memory systems (TMS) have examined project team efficiency. Specially, information system (IS) development projects require high efficiency within limited budgets and time schedules, even though technology applications cannot easily resolve complex problems. Our study examines the relationship between TMS and project team performance by considering technology complexity. In order to identify the relationship between variables, this study conducted a survey involving 83 respondents. Empirical results showed that technology complexity had a positive impact on TMS, and TMS had a positive impact on project team performance. Our research found that joint decision making could moderate the relationship between technology complexity and TMS.
