Feb. 1. lone-arms; tone-arm joints.-The tone-arm of a sound-reproducing machine is of octagonal or like shape with its cross-section decreasing step by step towards the sound-box. It is connected to its socket by pins 68 which are screwed through an outer movable ring 66 and pass through slots 69 in the fixed socket 66 to engage recesses in the flange 64 on the tone-arm.
