A steering spindle 1 has intersecting right and left hand threads engaged by segmental nuts 8, 9 which thus move steering levers 20, 21 in opposite directions. The nuts are mounted in a cylindrical bore 22 and have bores 18 engaged by spherical pins integral with arms 14 so that as the arms are rocked the nuts are turned about the spindle axis. The nuts form a journal for the spindle, axial movement of which is prevented by thrust discs.
