10-{3-[4-(P-Fluorobenzyl) piperidinyl propyl} phenothiazines (I; R = selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chloro, trifluoromethyl, acetyl) and its acid addition salts having sustained tranquillizing activity were manufd. by reacting 1-(3-halopropyl)-4-(P-fluorobenzoyl) piperidin with phenothiazine in the presence of strong base using solvents, benzene, toluene at 80-110≦̸C.
