The spindle drive is for the wing mirrors of a vehicle which can be adjusted by an electric motor. The drive elements transmit the power without any clearance and with the minimum of vibrations. A mirror support plate is mounted on the housing of the drive. It can be deflected in one or more planes. The adjustment spindle is at right angles to the support plate of the mirror. There is an adjustable spindle nut inside the housing. The spindle nut (3) can be adjusted in the radial direction and deflected as a result of an axial biassing force inside a number of ball bearings (12,12'). The ball bearings can move in an axial and a radial direction as a result of spring loading. They are held in position by an L-shaped bracket (16).
