In the case of a cable installation having an internally-cooled high-voltage power cable, said cable has a fluid-tight tube (1) inside the conductor, which consists of a plurality of moulded wires (3). The coolant (2) passes through said tube (1). Furthermore, a fluid-tight enveloping tube (5) is provided, which surrounds the conductor. In order to localise defects, the cavities (4) which are present between the moulded wires (3) are filled with at least one indicator substance (11).
