ABSTRACTSYNTHESIS OF SODIUM ALUMINUM HYDRIDEIn the direct synthesis process for producingNaAlH4 (pressure hydrogenation of Na and Al in aliquid phase reaction medium at an elevated temperature)advantages are realized by insuring that the initialreaction mixture contains a small amount of water and/oran alcohol. In particular, the induction period isshortened. And, the time, trouble and expense ofpurifying and pre-drying the reaction medium are avoided.
