PURPOSE:To enable the molding of a solid feed in a uniformly mixed state without unevenly distributing a crude feed and a concentrated feed in the radial direction of the resultant soli feed in compression molding a mixture of the crude feed with the concentrated feed having greatly different volume specific gravities into a columnar shape with a molding machine for the solid feed and obtaining the solid feed for ruminant livestock. CONSTITUTION:A piston 2 and a molding cylinder 3 are arranged so that the compressing direction of a feed may be a gravitational one or a direction tilted at a prescribed angle. Thereby, a crude feed and a concentrated feed are compression molded in a hardly separable state in the radial direction of the molding cylinder 3.
