The present invention relates to a method of producing signboards and advertising hoardings based on polymethylmethacrylate. The advertising insertions or contents (5) are bounded to a plate (4) of polymethylmethacrylate on the periphery of which spacers (7) are also bonded. This plate is sandwiched between two glass plates (1) held apart by a peripheral seal (2) and clamped by clamps (3). A mixture of methylmethacrylate monomer and polymers is poured (c) between the two plates (1). The assembly is placed in an autoclave for polymerization.
