PURPOSE: To provide a vacuum drier of compact construction which can dry an item to be dried having been washed efficiently and safely. ;CONSTITUTION: An item to be dried A is stored in one storage vessel selected and the vessel is selectively closed by means of a lid member 3. The vessel is heated using a heating tank 4 and hot air and solvent gas having been vaporized is condensed and recovered at a cooling device 14 and exhaust gas after the recovery of the solvent gas is vented to the atmosphere through an atmosphere venting pipe 16, thereby performing a first process, and thereafter the suction side of the vessel is closed to release an atmospheric communication state of a collected exhaust pipe 13 and the pressure in the vessel is reduced using a vacuum generator 17 to vaporize the remaining solvent in the vessel to condense the solvent to recover it by means of the device 14, thereby performing a second process. And after completing both the processes, any one of the other vessels is selected so that both of the processes are performed successively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
