A song room television adds a voice cognition IC to an input port of a microcomputer so that the song name desired by the user is automatically selected by a voice signal from a microphone. The song room television includes the steps of: determining whether a general television mode or a song room mode; determining whether there is a voice cognition command in a voice cognition IC when the song room mode is determined; performing a general key matrix command if the song room mode command is not received; outputting an input voice if there is a voice cognition command in the voice cognition IC; transmitting the voice data to the microcomputer, and outputting a control signal to a storage memory; outputting a background screen and a character signal according to the control signal, and displaying it; and performing a song practice mode according to the words of song displayed on screen.
