PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure easy assembly and cost reduction. SOLUTION: For a base unit 2, a backing plate 25 and a supporting wall 27 are standingly provided as a pair of guide walls. An engagement hole 251 is formed in the backing plate 25. The base unit 2 has a terminal board 3 provided with connector terminals 421, 422 and a printed wiring board 54 provided with a socket connector 55. An elastic engagement piece 743 is formed on the mainbody of an input/output module 6, in which two printed wiring boards 76, 77 are stored. The mainbody 7 of the module 6 is moved down along the guide walls 25, 27 and the elastic engagement piece 743 is engaged with the engagement hole 251, so that the module 6 is assembled on the unit 2.
