PURPOSE: A method for preparing a Ziegler-Natta-based catalyst for the polymerization of olefin and a method for preparing polypropylene using the catalyst are provided, to allow polypropylene to show high activity, high stereoregularity and excellent distribution of particle size. CONSTITUTION: The Ziegler-Natta-based catalyst is prepared by dissolving MgCl2 into a solvent mixture of an organic alcohol and an aromatic hydrocarbon; adding a mixture solution of a mineral oil, a nonionic surfactant and a halogenated titanium compound to the solution to prepare a suspension as a catalyst precursor; and adding an organic phthalate compound to the suspension as an internal electron donor and dipping a halogenated titanium compound into the suspension. Polypropylene is prepared by using the catalyst prepared by the method, an organoaluminum compound as a co-catalyst, and an organosilicon, an ether compound or en ester compound as an external electron donor.
