PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and efficiently polish a rubber roller without generating a recess on the rubber roller.;SOLUTION: A tapered part 13 is peripherally arranged at an interval in the shaft direction of a grinding wheel 11 on the front end side of the grinding wheel 11 for polishing an outer peripheral surface of a mold 50 so as to gradually reducing a diameter by turning a plurality of step difference parts 12 to the forefront end surface. A flat part 14 continuing from the tapered part 13 is arranged with the rear end side of the grinding wheel 11 as a columnar shape having the same diameter. The height of the respective step difference parts 12 is set to 0.1 to 0.3 mm, and the shaft directional length of the flat part 14 is set to 20 to 100 mm. The mold 50 and the grinding wheel 11 are positioned so that a value of a-b becomes 0.3 mm or less when a polishing margin for polishing the mold 50 by a front end surface 16 and the step difference parts 12 of the grinding wheel 11 is set to (a) mm, and the total height of the step difference parts 12 of the grinding wheel 11 is set to (b) mm. Time when the grinding wheel 11 traverses a width of the respective step difference parts 12, and time when the mold 15 rotates once, are set in the substantially same.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
