PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for management of printing on a roll type printing medium in which management of a printer for printing on the roll type printing medium is carried out according to a usage situation of the printer, thereby improving the usability, and a system of management of printing on the roll type printing medium.;SOLUTION: A printing management unit calculates a usage amount of roll paper to be used and a usage amount of ink to be used on the basis of printing information PI and displays a printing fee based on the usage amounts to receive the payment before performing the printing. When the printing management unit completes the charge of the printing fee, a printing means performs the printing based on the printing information PI to form residual amount information of the roll paper and residual amount information of a cartridge based on the actual usage amount of the roll paper and the actual usage amount of the ink, and then updates the roll paper information and the cartridge information in respective IC tags.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
