PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for compressing three-dimensional shape data with attribute data for reducing data quantity by efficiently applying data compression to data including auxiliary data for assisting three-dimensional shape data.;SOLUTION: In this method for compressing three-dimensional shape data with attribute data constituted of three-dimensional shape data and their attribute data, the three-dimensional attribute data are rearranged for each classification while maintained so as to be made correspond to each of those three-dimensional shape data (S02), and all the three-dimensional data values constituted of the three- dimensional shape data values and the three-dimensional attribute data values are arranged in one continuous storage area (S03), and when there are the same three- dimensional data values, only one data value is allowed to remain while the others are erased from the storage area so that the sharing of the three-dimensional data can be performed (S03), and those individual three-dimensional data values before sharing are converted into address information indicating individual position in the continuous area, and it is used as index information (S04), and the index information is used when referring to the three-dimensional data values.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
